People Director
The People Director role is a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, working closely with the CEO and CFO to build a world-class organisation that achieves its ambitious growth plans. Responsible for driving the delivery of an exceptional people function which will create the best employee experience and deliver business growth.
This role will provide vision, direction and leadership to a global people team, delivering exceptional service for our people, and providing challenge to the business ensuring people are at the heart of every decision made.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver a Global people strategy that aligns to the overall business strategy and add direct value to the business through our people.
- Provide oversight and support to all global people operations (UK, China and USA), delivering a service that strives for best practice and exemplifies excellence.
- Articulate the value of the People team to the business, building relationships and a strategic partnership with internal Stakeholders.
- Operate as a trusted advisor and driver for business enhancement, with the ability to assist in problem-solving to provide comprehensive solutions.
- Understand and cultivate the culture Treatt aspires to be, recognising the continual cycle required to ensure culture meets people and business needs.
- Lead Equality, Diversity and Inclusion programmes – driving a greater understanding of each other and enhancing a sense of belonging for all our people.
- Support the senior leaders to develop and maintain high-performing teams.
- Create and maintain alignment through the business through purpose, values, performance, and objectives.
- Develop and optimise people-centred activities to support company growth.
- Enable great people to do exceptional things – developing exceptional talent, identifying potential, succession planning, all in partnership with people managers (aka our Talent Agents).
- Support high-level senior and board level employment matters.
- Guard the Treatt reputation, and identify when issues arise, providing solutions, and ensuring you provide a strong brand ambassador presence.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the external environmental factors impacting Treatt, using networking as an opportunity to exchange and learn. Be influential and showcase Treatt to other businesses.
- Attend and influence the Remuneration Committee, as required.
- Protect and champion the well-being of our people.
Experience
- Extensive experience working in a senior leadership role within an international manufacturing business, supporting a widely diverse workforce demographic.
- Experience in leading a people team, across multiple locations, knowing how to get the best out of your people.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the latest up-to-date thinking in the ‘People’ arena, and how to apply that appropriately within a complex, medium-sized organisation.
- Proven project delivery/change transformation experience.
- Commercially focussed, with an understanding of how business connects to people.
- International business exposure (USA and China, and others beneficial) with an understanding of the complexity of different geographical legal landscapes and cultural differences.
- Experience of leading business change programmes. M&A and Integration experience would be beneficial.
- Listed company experience with exposure to Remuneration committees and board is advantageous.
- A solid and confident understanding of financial concepts, and ability to interrogate numbers and make sound decisions based on factual information.
- Willingness to take a proactive and hands-on approach, providing assistance where needed.
