Background to the appointment
Treatt has achieved group revenues of c £150 m. There is an opportunity and ambition to significantly grow over the next 3-5 years. There is manufacturing capacity to deliver growth after investing in all three locations, including a £45m capex programme for a new purpose-built facility and head office in Bury St Edmunds. This will be achieved by new product development, capturing greater market share with existing customers, growing the customer base, expanding into adjacent markets and accelerating the growth in China.
The business has grown its revenues and profits for each of the last 10 years, other than in 2022 and is on track to deliver further profitable growth this year.
The building blocks for growth are in place with Treatt having experienced significant change over the past few years. The business has faced a complex relocation of the UK manufacturing facility and head office, a refreshed Board, and recent new appointments within the leadership team including CEO, Dave Shannon, joining in June 2024. People and culture have always been integral to Treatt, many employees (and their families) have worked there for years, and they are now faced with more change than they have ever known. Supporting employees throughout this transition is a key focus for the Board and leadership team, that the new people director will join.
Treatt is extremely well regarded and poised for growth, and the market opportunity within the global beverage and food sector is booming. Having invested heavily in state-of-the-art facilities, it has a wonderful reputation, deep expertise, and strong, established customer relationships with some of the globe’s most famous brands. As the business positions itself to maximise opportunities, the right people director will deliver the people strategy for it to flourish and grow.
